Join Meghan Toshner, Senior Instructional Designer for Math Solutions, as she discusses specific strategies for simultaneously supporting language acquisition and mathematical understanding in English Learners. You’ll gain insight into designing lessons that promote reasoning, discourse, and differentiation for the varied levels of English learners in the classroom.

Meghan Toshnern About the Presenter

Meghan Toshner is a Senior Instructional Designer for Math Solutions who has served English learners in a variety of roles for over 12 years. During her time in public education, Meghan worked as a teacher, instructional coach, math coordinator and principal for both small rural and larger metropolitan districts in Northeast Texas. Meghan holds a B.B.A in Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in addition to a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a M.S. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She holds multiple teaching certifications at the elementary and middle school level, including supplemental certificates in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Gifted and Talented (GT) education. In her work with Math Solutions, she’s led the course development for Supporting English Learners in Math and is passionate about helping all students gain access to and a love for mathematics.
